In our effort to design and build the best athletic shoes and apparel, New Balance has created the Wear Test Program. This rigorous testing program ensures that all of our shoes and apparel will perform at their peak — so you will, too. The program works like this: The project leader in charge of developing a new shoe or garment will request a Wear Test, meaning the item should be tested under real life conditions. New Balance pulls information from its tester database to identify people who most closely match the needs of the test on the basis of sizing, geographic location, activity profile, etc.

Once a group of testers is located, the products are sent out with specific instructions regarding their use. After the test period, the items are sent back to New Balance and evaluated by the Research and Development team.
